Lime Tree Retirement Village In Warwickshire

John Hughes and Keith Woolley, who had been the driving force behind Lime Tree Village’s fund raising for the British Heart Foundation for a number of years, were keen that we should hold a special coffee morning again this year.

The planned date was Friday 16th March and Kathleen Stubbs, our special events coordinator on the residents’ committee, gathered a group of volunteers together to begin planning the event and collecting items for prizes and sales.

Sadly, Keith passed away before the event but it was decided to go ahead. It was a busy morning, there were stalls selling cakes, books, cards and bric-à-brac, a tombola and raffles. Tea, coffee and cakes were served in abundance by cheerful volunteers.

At the end of the morning when the proceeds were counted by the Residents Association treasurer, it was discovered that just under £900 had been raised. An anonymous donor then made a generous donation to bring the total raised to a straight £1000.

Well done everyone who participated in any way, no doubt with fond memories of Keith and all he did for the village. A great sum for a very good cause.
