Lime Tree Celebrations

This year our summer fete was extra special as it was not only our annual fete, it was also the tenth anniversary of the opening of Lime Tree Village. The first residents moved into Lime Tree in 2004. Then it was a building site, now after ten years it is a well-established community with a vibrant social scene and attractive, well-maintained grounds.

The day started dull and showery but by 2pm, when the festivities began, the clouds had dispersed and the sun was shining. As well as the usual stalls, games and competitions, we were entertained by a quartet of saxophonists, Morris dancers and Ocho Rios, a local steel drum band. Residents prepared a cream tea mid-afternoon, the Pimm’s Bar did a roaring trade and, to round off the celebrations, Andy, our chef, laid on a delicious BBQ.

Everyone agreed that it was a most enjoyable occasion, made more so by being shared with friends, family and fellow residents.
