We have appointed Gaynor O’Dell and Carol Dight respectively to manage Gittisham Hill Park and Gittisham Hill House its integrated care home.
With a strong background in managing people, Gaynor previously spent over two decades in top-level HR roles for local firms. She will now lead Gittisham Hill Park’s team to ensure that residents receive the best possible experience.
“Although my HR experience is highly relevant, I am moving from a corporate environment to one focussed on lifestyle,” said Gaynor. “This is different and means I will be helping people on a personal level. I am already finding this extremely satisfying.”
Carol Dight, our new Care Home Manager at Gittisham, comes from Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton, where she worked as Director of Nursing of over 20 years. She will run Gittisham Hill House and the practical skills and expertise she has built up over her career make her perfect for the role.
“I wanted to move back to providing hand-on care after my time at the hospital,” she commented. “The team at Gittisham is brilliant and I love it here, so I am confident joining was the right decision. My future goals are to achieve an ‘Outstanding’ CQC rating for the home and broaden the activities programme for residents.”
Gaynor and Carol replace departing manager Carol White, who has decided to seek new challenges after nearly two decades of service.
Our executive chairman Nigel Welby added: “I would like to give a warm welcome to Gaynor and Carol. I wish them every success in their new positions.”
