The start of autumn was celebrated in traditional style at Elmbridge Village with a super Harvest Festival. The evening began with a service in the village hall at 6.00 pm.

Baskets of fruit and vegetables were on display, all of which had all been grown by residents in the village allotments. Residents of the village were encouraged to take any of the fruit and veg with them.

Marian Walter, village resident said: “Our annual Harvest Festival is a wonderful event. There was a good choice of home grown produce to choose from and I made a lovely compote from some apples and pears.”

The service was followed by a delicious three course Harvest Supper, which was attended by 70 residents.

At the end of the evening, village chef, Mandy Dodson, presented a brimming basket of fruit to Mr. Roberts, the local church representative, which would be distributed amongst church members.

An enjoyable evening full of atmosphere was had by all that attended!
