Charters’ Village resident Iris Pendergast and Barista James Light were among the more ‘senior’ guests at Imberhorne School for an afternoon tea dance.
Organised by the school to bring the generations together, the event took grandparents and older people from the local community back in time to their dance hall days.
The school hall was packed from first to last dance, only stopping at the interval for a lavish afternoon tea while guests gathered their breath.
Iris, a firm tea dance fan and James, had a wonderfully entertaining afternoon.
Afterwards, Nikki Burch, school partnerships manager, said: “The event provided a fabulous volunteering opportunity for students, who thoroughly enjoyed themselves and it was hugely rewarding to bring young and old together for a shared activity that spans the generations. It really was an absolutely magical event. Keep dancing!”
