It might be challenging times but for residents like Keith Richardson at Charters Village it’s a chance to enjoy a bit of our home-cooked food in the comfort of his own apartment.
Instead of the delights of the village restaurant, the Coronavirus lockdown means he, like many other residents, are having meals delivered to their door.
The takeaway service is proving a massive hit and a great way for residents to mix up their own culinary plans. As for our chefs and catering teams, it’s business as usual – but served up in a slightly different way!
Keith says: “I’ve got a Bistro Specials takeaway menu and my first order was fish chowder which I loved! The village shop is also doing deliveries which is great, especially for all the essentials. We just have to adapt and that’s fine. There’s still a great village spirit going which is important.”
After his meal, Keith enjoys some outdoor exercise and stretches his legs around Charters’ stunning grounds. A resident at the village for six years, Keith added: “Whilst I can’t leave the village to go further afield thanks to Coronavirus, I am able to take walks around the village whenever I choose and I can’t wish for a better place to do this!”
