Chef Ana receives a Star Award
Despite only being in the role for a few months, Charter’s village chef, Ana Saurez, has earned the Star Award after wowing villagers with her delicious plates of food; including her recent eye-catching Fish Platter!
She was presented with the award after being nominated by a selection of staff and residents for her excellent contribution to the restaurant, and her positive impact on residents in such a relatively short space of time.
Ana has even began to provide meals for residents that can be frozen, so residents can take advantage of an ‘Ana Special’ on a Saturday.
Regular diners have commented that the “specials are excellent, and the service is helpful” and “can’t beat it for value for money”.
Ana said: “I was absolutely amazed to find out I won the star award, I really couldn’t believe it, it was just so unexpected. I love my role at Charters Village and all the staff and residents have been so welcoming and supportive of my dishes.”
Chris Buck, regional sales manager, explained: “It’s great to see hard-working staff receive the recognition they deserve. It’s also wonderful for staff and residents at Charters Village to get a chance to show how grateful they are. Ana is a fantastic asset to our team.”
This marks a double celebration for the village, which was recently awarded a 5* Food Hygiene rating, following an unannounced inspection by an environmental health officer.
Inspections were carried out of the food and kitchen in the restaurant, the dining facilities and all paperwork on cleanliness, temperature control and food handling.
The rating is based on 5 excellent to 0 urgent improvement required.
