Most of the residents at Cedars attended the village fete, which was held on Bank Holiday Monday, 25th May.
There were the usual activities to enjoy, all set up with the help of grandchildren and many volunteers, who all enjoyed participating. Those with walking sticks also insisted on doing their bit to help. There were the following attractions to enjoy:
Cake stall, tombola, skittles, throwing a golf ball into a bucket, trap the rat, frisbee golf, dart ball game, bagatelle and french boules, complete with french flags and ‘monsieur’ in charge. There was also ‘guess the weight of the cake’ and ‘guess how many sweets in a jar’.
The afternoon finished up with a cream tea, accompanied by some old tunes provided by a resident on discs. People were able to enjoy this in the conservatory where the flowers were giving off a lovely perfume.
