Marquee Week 2014

Diary posted

31st July 2014

This year there was a crowd of around 100 at the Monday Welcome Party, who all enjoyed a drink or two. Una’s in house catering team provided a feast of excellent snacks.

We also enjoyed a good chat and a great performance by our old favourites, the Jolly Jazzers Band, who soon had many of us up on our feet dancing!

The Tuesday Luncheon Club talk on ”A Childs War” by Mark Brown brought back many fascinating memories.

No surprise that Tuesdays Antiques Show was well supported by over 40

The Thursday Village Market drew in many visitors who browsed the variety of stalls that our Market Manager had organised. Everyone enjoyed themselves greatly … even the few who failed to win one of the super prizes on the Tombola or Village Lottery!

The deer drive attracted over 30 eager competitors, they all had a great time and the winners were Sandi and Roger Nicholson.

The Friday variety show drew in a large crowd.  The audience clearly found the show highly entertaining, which gave great relief and satisfaction to Director Ron Jeanes and his crew who all put a great deal of time and effort into rehearsals.

The Saturday morning craft show drew a good crowd, and demonstrated what a great wealth of talent we have here at Castle Village.

The Saturday Gala Dinner attracted over 100 diners, the food and service were as excellent as ever, and the entertainment featuring three ladies, Las Pulsatillas, was splendid.

Altogether, Marquee Week 2014 was another very enjoyable embellishment to life at Castle Village. Many thanks to all those residents who contributed help in various ways.

A Huge thanks to all who attended!!
