Summer at Blagdon: Residents enjoy Wine Tasting and Midsummer Music

blagdon-1.480.376.sThe summer weather began to show its true nature and residents were keen to soak up the sun on the patio.  It’ s also the time of year when people are away as they take their holidays or short breaks. Even so, the routine activities continued and despite falling attendances at some events, we had two one-off events to enjoy together:

Wine Tasting

Every so often our Village Manager, Clair, organises a wine tasting evening.  Just like the previous occasions, a local supplier brought along a selection of different wines with a dual purpose – to educate those residents who are not wine buffs, whilst also hopefully sell some of his stock.  It was a convivial evening.

Midsummer Music

Once again, John Kinahan provided a nostalgic programme of music from his comprehensive collection of CDs. There was a wide variety from Bygone Days, but as always, there was a good selection from the era of the big bands to set the feet tapping by the residents who came along to enjoy the evening.
