Blagdon Village, Retirement Villages

To commemorate Remembrance Day this year, the Poppy of Honour memorial was welcomed at Blagdon Village.

This mobile tribute was created by Terry Williams of Somerset, who wanted to create something that listed they name of every person that fought and died in the First World War.

The Poppy of Honour visited two other villages within the Retirement Villages Group and was warmly welcomed by them all.

Terry also gave a speech about the origins of the poppy and shared photographs and memorabilia from the period.

A permanent Remembrance Garden in Wincanton is planned by Terry that residents will be free to visit.
