Avonpark, Limpley Stoke, Bath
Residents have been busy in the allotments at Avonpark over the last few weeks. There are 10 plots available and at about four square metres each space is a bit limited, but this has not dampened enthusiasm.

Despite the awful recent weather, which delayed work, planting has nearly finished. Crops include spuds, broad beans, peas, carrots, parsnips, carrots, onions, marrows, courgettes, spinach, runner beans, and chard along with some salad items like lettuce, spring onion and rocket. There are also some small fruit crops of rhubarb, blueberries, black currants, loganberries and three small apple trees.

In addition, there is a small seating area populated with a few flowers including roses and sweet peas, providing the perfect spot to sit and relax after all the cultivating work.

Everyone can use the tools available in the hut, which was donated by old residents.

It sounds as if there will be plenty of vegetable varieties on the dinner table and some lovely fruit for dessert in the coming months!
