Avonpark, Retirement Villages

This year the residents at Avonpark in Limpley Stoke, Wiltshire welcomed the impressive Poppy of Honour to the village, providing residents and their families with the chance to remember those who fought in the First World War.

This beautiful and fitting tribute was made in Somerset and features more than 1 million names of every British and Commonwealth serviceman and woman who lost their lives in the war.

A speech was given by the poppy’s creator Terry Williams about the origins of the tribute.

Everyone that attended the event welcomed the opportunity to pay tribute to those who fought and fell.
