Residents made the most of the sunny weather as they welcomed family and friends to their annual ‘Pimms and Strings’ event.
Joined by their guests, residents gathered under a marquee on the lawns of the landscaped gardens to enjoy the views over Avon Valley, while being served Pimms, teas and coffees and a spread of canapés, tea cakes and cream scones – all of which were prepared by the village catering team.
Keysworth String Quartet entertained guests providing the musical repertoire for the afternoon and dazzling the audience with classical favourites such as Vivaldi, Pachalbel and Bach.
The event was also a great opportunity for visitors to see what a retirement village is really like, providing an insight into the lifestyle of residents at Avonpark. Visitors were able to tour the village and its 15 acres of landscaped grounds, including the main clubhouse that hosts a lounge, bar, bistro and library.
Sylvester Harker, Estates Manager for Retirement Villages Group Ltd, said events such as these are a chance to show people what retirement villages are really like:
“There is commonly a misconception when it comes to retirement villages. This event is not only a firm favourite in the annual calendar, but also gives those who are considering their retirement options a chance to talk to existing residents and learn about the lifestyle enjoyed by the community at Avonpark”.
