To mark the start of a major re-development plan at Elmbridge Retirement Village a special ceremony has taken place.
Representatives from Retirement Villages and contractors Castleoak were joined by Elmbridge Village residents for a special turf-cutting ceremony.
The development plan includes the provision of a new clubhouse, complete with auditorium, restaurant, library, bar and doctor’s surgery. Built above, will be 18 one and two-bedroom apartments overlooking the established leafy grounds, which will be available to purchase.
The event was the first opportunity for residents to view detailed plans of the new facilities.
Elmbridge Village Manager Simon Baird said, “We’re thrilled with the response we have received from residents. The new modifications will support residents’ thriving social calendar and offer a number of new opportunities.”
Elmbridge Village is currently home to around 280 residents living in 236 bungalows and apartments, all with access to a range of communal facilities. It was the first village built by Retirement Villages, who now operate 13 others across the UK.
