Lime Tree Village manager Malvenia Richmond is planning to run the Vitality 10km in London on May 30th to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Malvenia was diagnosed with bowel cancer in May 2014 and following surgery had to have a course of chemotherapy which finished in March 2015. During her illness, her daughter Helen ran a 5km Race for Life in Oxford and Malvenia promised she would run in an event with her daughter after she had recovered from her cancer treatment.
“I am hoping to raise at least £250 to support the fantastic work of Cancer Research UK. I am a cancer survivor and will do everything I can to continue the fight to help others going through similar problems” said Malvenia.
“The opportunity to do the Vitality 10km run with my daughter Helen is just wonderful and although the training is hard and daunting, I am really looking forward to this new challenge” she added.
