Lime Tree Village manager Malvenia Richmond put her best foot forward to run the Vitality 10km in London on Bank Holiday Monday and raised around £700 for Cancer Research UK.

Malvenia was diagnosed with bowel cancer in May 2014 and following surgery had to have a course of chemotherapy which finished in March 2015.  During her illness, her daughter Helen ran a 5km Race for Life in Oxford and Malvenia promised she would run in an event with her daughter after she had recovered from her cancer treatment.

Malvenia completed the race in a personal best of 1:04:48 and was accompanied by her eldest daughter Helen.

“It was a wonderful and very special experience for me and the end result made all the hard work during training worthwhile,” said Malvenia.
