A bespoke private housing project for retired people is gathering pace with the first of the interior rooms now complete.
The project, a private 26-apartment development called Maynard House, is under construction in Great Easton, It represents one of the first private build schemes of its type in the area and will provide a much-needed source of private retirement properties for rural Essex.
Due to be fully complete in mid 2014, the first building work to be finished this month is the main clubhouse area.
An open plan lounge, dining area and residents’ bar have been fitted out, alongside a separate library with Internet access. Work on the 26 one and two bedroom apartments is now well underway.
“Private retirement schemes are few and far between and with property options for the older age group quite limited in this area of Essex, this project is a necessary addition and also something refreshingly different,” explained Sarah Burgess, director of sales and marketing for developer Retirement Villages Group Ltd.
The ethos of the UK developer is to build and manage retirement schemes which make socialising one of the main focal points, eliminating the risk of loneliness, a common symptom of older age.
“Communal space, such as the clubhouse, form natural meeting places and the perfect environment for socialising and organising group events,” added Sarah. “The clubhouse is the centre of village life at all of our existing villages.”
Maynard House sits within the established grounds of the newly named Moat Park Retirement Village in Great Easton. The clubhouse is now available to view through Linda McLean, the on-site sales consultant. For more information, tel: 01371 483360 or call in Thursday-Monday 10.30am-5pm, visit: www.moatpark.co.uk
