Special guest Honor Blackman declared Retirement Villages Group Ltd’s 14th village “very impressive” during a dedicated launch event.

Best known for her role as infamous Bond Girl ‘Pussy Galore’, Ms Blackman attended the event on Friday 14th March to celebrate the official opening of the £25 million development on Felcourt Road, East Grinstead.

The event welcomed over 100 other specially invited guests, some of whom had previously attended the initial launch of the village in January 2013. Groups of visitors were taken on tours of the grounds and facilities, with two dedicated showhomes open for viewings throughout the day.

Formal speeches and the unveiling of a plaque took place in the central clubhouse, where drinks and canapés were served. Guests mingled and chatted with staff in the communal spaces, including the main function room, restaurant, bar and library.

Following her own personal tour of the village, Ms Blackman addressed the residents and their guests, saying that they were very lucky. “You can tell a lot of care and effort has gone into creating this place, I am so very impressed,” she added.

Charters Village is the 14th development of its kind from Retirement Villages. When fully complete, it will offer 83 privately owned apartments, bungalows and chalet bungalows plus an on site 60 bed care home, Charters Court.
