Even before the last brick has been laid, the reservations are flooding in at our new retirement village, Debden Grange in Newport.

Those that have already reserved their properties at the village attended an open day and raised their glasses to celebrate!

Debden Grange, Retirement Villages GroupThis development, a private village for people aged 65 and over, will not be fully complete until next spring but this hasn’t put off buyers keen to secure a home there.

Chris Buck, regional sales manager said buyers making an early commitment were being sensible in the current housing climate.

“The market is relatively flat at the moment and so selling an existing property could potentially take some time. People who have reserved with us are being realistic about the timescale,” explained Chris.

The village, off Whiteditch Lane and Bury Water Lane, will have its own private clubhouse with resident-only facilities including a restaurant, bar, library, hair salon, shop and meeting room, and there will also be a care home on site.

“Debden Grange promises to be a thriving and active community for go getting people who really want to maximise this period of their lives,” explained Chris.

“This is a lifestyle proposition and it’s becoming increasingly more popular in the UK amongst forward-thinking people who want to take control of their destiny now, and futureproof themselves.” Once complete, the village will provide 81 purpose-built cottages and apartments which are available to buy, rent or part own.
