Following our review of the latest government advice, released on May 7th, 2020, we wanted to provide further reassurance and support to our communities, along with an update on the measures we are taking to adhere to the government guidelines.

The measures, detailed belowremain in place:

  • We are postponing open days and public events until further notice.
  • Our Sales & Marketing suites will be open in June at our new developments at Debden Grange and Gradwell Park, with strict social distancing and safety measures in place. Further clarification on exact dates will be updated here.
  • We will not be conducting viewings at this time on available accommodation at any of our other ‘established’ communities until further notice.
  • We are however still OPEN FOR BUSINESS virtually and our sales teams are able to assist with enquiries and future viewings.

We continue to adhere to the advice issued by the government and, in line with this, we continuto work with our staff and residents to prioritise their wellbeing.

With this in mind, we continue to review our guidelines at all villages undertaking risk assessments and updating guidance following these. For now, whilst these reviews are ongoing, our measures around only essential visitors’ entering our villages remain in place.

Other measures

Our management teams will continue to support our communities in the same way they have up until now. In fact, since social distancing measures have been in place, there has been a huge team effort from all those at Retirement Villages Group – our staff, residents and wider communities. We have received many messages of thanks recognising the dedication and commitment of our staff in going above and beyond to keep residents safe. Our thanks extend to residents too, for supporting us to support them.

To enable us to offer that support we have launched our Connect wellness programme, which you can read more about in my blog. The programme aims to keep our communities connected, prioritising their health and wellbeing, as the Covid-19 pandemic continues. Included in this programme are food delivery services, wellness calls from teams across our organisation, a weekly newsletter and the launch of Your Community Connect.

You can stay up to date with Your Community Connect by liking the Retirement Villages Facebook Page.

A silver lining in all of this has been the strong team spirit shown between residents and staff during this period. Critically, however, we continue not to be complacent, adhering to all government guidance.

We will continue to update you via our website but if you would like to speak to a member of our team, please do call 01372 383950. Although our villages are closed to non-essential visitors, we want to reassure you that we are very much available to speak with you, about current or future retirement living plans. We would be happy to help with any queries you may have.
