Our latest retirement village project, Charters Village, has been shortlisted for a national award.

The West Sussex retirement village is one of just four retirement schemes in the country to be put forward for the top UK honour.

The Housebuilder Awards recognise the very best new build projects for 2014. The retirement category is looking for schemes which provide the highest standards in quality and sustainable living for this age group.

“We are delighted to be shortlisted,” said Sarah Burgess, sales and marketing director. “We are extremely proud of this project. We started with a virtually blank canvas except for a beautiful 100-year-old manor house which has now become the central focal point for village residents.”

The village is bespoke. It combines a range of properties and amenities in a unique setting. There is also a purpose-built care home and daycare centre.

“It is important we don’t simply build retirement homes for today, we have to think ahead to what the future may hold for residents. That is part of our duty as a responsible provider working within this sector.”

Charters Village will now come under the scrutiny of the judging panel before a winner is announced at the annual awards ceremony in London in the Autumn.
