Uttlesford District Council has granted planning permission for our brand new age-exclusive development on a 4.5 acre site on the edge of the historic village of Newport.
The current design for the development features the provision of 81 residential units, a care home of 40 beds and a clubhouse. In keeping with our UK portfolio, the clubhouse will incorporate a bar, restaurant, shop, treatment and exercise rooms, library and meeting rooms, as well as offices.
We are investing around £35m into the development, which is at the forefront of our £200m expansion drive to deliver a pipeline of seven new Villages across the South East of England over the next five years.
The large catchment area, our familiarity with the region and its local authority through our neighbouring Moat Park village at Great Easton, makes the site an extremely attractive development opportunity. We are looking forward to advancing the detailed designs for the new community, which we anticipate will bring around 65 new jobs to the area.”
It is hoped that construction work will start on site in the Autumn of 2017 with the village opening to its first residents mid-2019.
