Residents of the bungalows at Gittisham Hill Park live independently but enjoy the peace of mind which comes from having a 24 hour emergency service, providing cover for medical emergencies. Each property is fitted with an alarm call system.

A qualified member of staff is on duty at the village to provide advice on health matters, liaise with families if and when appropriate and to look after the well-being of residents. They are also able to help arrange additional personal nursing or domiciliary care services if required, through RV Care.

Formerly a country residence, the main house at Gittisham Hill Park has been converted into a 30 bed registered care home. Further beds are being added as part of the extension work currently being undertaken. 

The care home, in Devon, specialises in the care of those living with dementia and memory loss. A team of nurses, carers and support staff, overseen by a dedicated manager, provide the bespoke care every resident deserves. When necessary the input of external professionals is called upon and, as a result, staff have developed close working relationships with care experts in the county.

The ethos is to provide the support necessary to ensure residents are able to enjoy life safely, securely and as independently as possible. To that end, residents are encouraged to take part in decision making, to join in activities if they wish and to welcome guests throughout the day.

Private bedrooms are furnished but residents are encouraged to personalise them with individual items. This aids familiarity. Shared spaces are comfortably decorated to provide a home from home environment with everything possible done to ensure residents feel safe and secure.

With dual living options at the village, couples with differing care needs may find it the ideal place to meet their requirements. Those able to live on their own can choose to buy one of the well-designed bungalows at the village while their partner is able to receive care and support in the village’s care home.

Gittisham Hill Park sits 11 miles from the M5 and less than 20 miles from Taunton, Exeter and Lyme Regis in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
