The Moat House Care Services

The Moat House has been beautifully designed to ensure residents can enjoy all the benefits of living in a friendly, familiar community with the very best care and support available round the clock.

The Essex care home is split into four suites. Each has its own wing and is staffed by a dedicated team of carers, nurses and support staff. By having specialist residential care, nursing care, dementia and dementia nursing care available, residents and their loved ones can be assured they will be given exactly the level of support they require, even if circumstances change.
 

Oak Suite

The 14 bed Oak Suite is on the ground floor and offers round the clock nursing care tailored to the individual requirements of each resident. 

Like the entire Moat House, Oak Suite has been beautifully decorated to offer residents the very best surroundings and staff the optimum conditions to provide first rate care.

Oak Suite is staffed by a team of nurses, care and support staff overseen by an experienced manager. They work in conjunction with other professionals from the wider community to ensure the need of every resident is fully met.

Every bedroom is comfortably furnished with residents encouraged to bring in personal possessions to aid the sense of familiarity. The suite has its own lounge and dining area where residents can socialise, entertain and join in organised activities. Every area has been thoughtfully designed to allow ease of use for residents, whatever their level of mobility.

The terrace provides a secure and accessible outdoor area overlooking established woodland.

Willow Suite

Retirement Villages is proud to be able to offer highly specialised dementia nursing in this 14 bed suite. Trained teams of carers and nursing staff provide intensive support and care for those who require it as a result of their condition.

For those living with dementia complicated by further nursing needs, any move can be confusing and create care challenges. Willow Suite staff pay particular attention to ensuring residents feel safe and secure from the minute they move into the care home, which sits in the Essex countryside. While the decoration echoes the luxury elsewhere in the Moat House there are particular design aspects aimed at comfort and familiarity including picture prompts, bygone memorabilia and memory boxes.

Staff work closely with residents, their loved ones where appropriate, and other professionals to ensure every nursing, care and support need is provided. There is no ‘off the shelf’ care package. The support provided to every resident is as individual as they are and as flexible as it needs to be throughout their time at the Moat House.

For the safety and wellbeing of residents, the suite has key coded security locks.

Maple Suite

The 18 bed Maple Suite provides residential home facilities in a ‘home from home’ environment.

The suite sits on the first floor of the Moat House and is ideal for those who wish to retain a level of independence while having the reassurance of available support.

The luxurious decoration of the suite reflects the high standard of support on offer. Private rooms and communal areas have been thoughtfully designed to provide a backdrop for residents to stamp their individuality on. Every room is en suite and is provided fully furnished, although residents are encouraged to bring treasured possessions to personalise their living space.

The communal areas in the Maple Suite have been well thought out to offer space that is both practical and attractive. They provide residents space to meet, watch television, play games, join in activities and entertain guests. While staff are on hand to provide support where required, residents can live as independently as they wish and their private space is respected at all times.

The Moat House has extensive outdoor spaces including a terrace, woodland areas and expansive lawns which residents are free to enjoy.

Aspen Suite

We respect the responsibility we have to give those living with dementia the very best care, support and help to ensure they feel comfortable, secure and safe. The interior design of Aspen Suite is based on the latest expert thinking with colour coding, picture prompts and traditional features helping residents feel a sense of familiarity and belonging. Staff have undergone specialist training to ensure they are able to provide the very highest level of care that our residents deserve.

The team working at the 14 bed Aspen Suite aim to build strong relationships not just with residents but with their loved ones too, as appropriate. That helps give everyone involved peace of mind and ensures lines of communication remain open. External relationships with professionals and local care and medical providers are also carefully fostered.
