Residents at LimeTree Village are marking the 100th anniversary of the village’s centrepiece Edwardian mansion house by burying a time capsule.
The hand crafted lead box, filled with photos, written anecdotes from the villagers and other memorabilia, is being buried in the landscaped gardens at Lime Tree Village, Dunchurch, near Rugby.
Cawston is mentioned in the Domesday book but the current house was built by the sixth Duke of Buccleuch in 1907.
It was renovated by Retirement Villages to become the club house for Lime Tree Village and now houses apartments, offices and communal areas including a bar, restaurant and meeting rooms.
Residents are marking the 100th anniversary of the impressive building by burying the time capsule, which has been sponsored by Retirement Villages, at 2pm on Tuesday, September 18.
