Retirement Villages Ltd - one of the UK’s leading specialists in the sector - has announced two new appointments in response to its continuing growth.

Malcolm Sniders, previously village manager at the company’s Cedars Village in Chorleywood, Hertfordshire, has been named as the new operations manager working alongside the operations director. He will be responsible for the running of existing villages, setting up new ones and developing and implementing new products and services for the benefit of residents. He will also take on some compliance responsibilities.

Rita Williams has filled the newly-created role of property sales manager after four years managing the sales team at the company’s Lime Tree Village development in Dunchurch, Warwickshire. Rita, who has 24 years experience in property sales, will take on responsibility for resales across the company’s seven sites, the training of sales staff and the compilation of a company database.
Malcolm and Rita, who both took up their positions at the beginning of April, will be based at Retirement Villages’ head office in Epsom, Surrey.
Jon Gooding, managing director for Retirement Villages, said: “At the moment the company owns and manages 1,000 units on seven sites. It is our intention to grow the business through acquisition and development to 5,000 units within the next five years.
“The appointment of key staff such as Malcolm and Rita is vital if we are to keep pace with this growth. Their previous experience and knowledge of Retirement Villages and our customers make them perfectly placed to fill their new roles.”
Last year Retirement Villages Ltd acquired an existing close care development of 36 units - Thamesfield, Henley on Thames; a brand new retirement development of 80 units and 35 nursing beds in Roseland Parc near Truro, Cornwall, adjoining an existing nursing home facility; as well as launching a new 83 unit purpose-built lifestyle village in Taunton, Somerset. Further acquisitions are to follow this year.
