Residents, staff and invited guests are set to celebrate 20 years of care on the site of Roseland Parc Retirement Village with a Garden Party.
Penlee House was originally built in the late 1830s by the Tregony Borough Corporation for use as a rectory. In August 1987, the then Grade II listed house, was opened as a seven-bed residential home with a live-in nurse matron. It quickly gained a reputation for excellent care and home cooked food.
Gradually, over the years, the home was extended and the registration increased to include full nursing care. In 2004, following the completion of an eight-bedroom extension it was registered as a 31-bed nursing home.
In May last year residents and staff moved to the neighbouring purpose-built 37-bed Roseland Nursing Home set in the landscaped gardens of the new Roseland Parc Retirement Village, developed by Retirement Villages.
“This site has seen many residents and staff over the last 20 years and has grown to become the wonderful place it is today,” said Village Manager Derek Pashley. “We wanted to recognise that with a special event.”
A plaque is set to be unveiled during the celebrations on Saturday, May 24.
Photographers are welcome to attend the plaque unveiling at 3pm on Saturday, May 24 at Roseland Parc, Tregony, near Truro. Please report to Village Manager Derek Pashley in the first instance.
