Blagdon Lodge opens its doors

A VIP ceremony is being staged to mark the official opening of Blagdon Lodge – the centre piece of Taunton’s newest lifestyle development for the over 60s Blagdon Village.

The purpose-built clubhouse topped with an ornate clock tower will become the village’s focal point featuring restaurant, bar, library and function room for the use of residents.
There are also a number of high specification apartments within Blagdon Lodge which make up some of the 85 privately-owned properties on the site off Middleway in the sought-after Haines Hill area of the town.

Guests at the official opening on Friday, November 23 will include the Mayor of Taunton Ken Hayward, Deputy Lieutenant of Somerset Brian Tanner and leader of Taunton Deane Borough Council Ross Henley. Representatives from developers Retirement Villages and its partner in the venture Barnardos will also attend the plaque unveiling.

“We are delighted to be hosting this opening ceremony for Blagdon Lodge,” said Retirement Villages’ sales and marketing director Sarah Burgess. “This is an important and exciting stage in the development of the village. The Lodge offers first class facilities for residents and is a real sign that the village is coming to life.”

Apartments at Blagdon Village are available from £195,000. Show apartments are open daily 10.30am-5pm. Tel: 01823 336192. www.retirementvillages.co.uk
