Blagdon Lodge hosts craft exhibition

A special one day craft exhibition is being staged to mark the opening of Blagdon Lodge – the centre piece of Taunton’s newest lifestyle development Blagdon Village.

The show will provide a chance to view work by the prestigious Somerset Guild of Craftsmen and pick up some unique Christmas gift ideas.

Open to the public, the exhibition is being staged in the newly-opened Blagdon Lodge, the main clubhouse at the Retirement Villages’ development off Middleway, in the sought-after Haines Hill area of the town.

Purpose-built Blagdon Lodge, topped with an ornate clock tower, is the focal point of the village featuring restaurant, bar, library and function room for the use of the residents. Built by developer Retirement Villages, it also houses some of the 85 privately-owned properties on the site.

“Blagdon Lodge is being officially opened the previous day so this will be the first chance for a lot of people to visit,” said Retirement Villages’ sales and marketing director Sarah Burgess. “We are really proud of the Lodge and the facilities it will provide for residents and are looking forward to showing it off.

“With some of the county’s leading craftsmen showing their work at the exhibition there will be plenty for people to see.”

The exhibition is open between 10.30am and 4.30pm on Saturday, November 24. Show apartments at the village will also be open for viewing until 5pm. More information about Blagdon Village is available by telephoning 01823 336192 or visiting the website www.retirementvillages.co.uk
