Sprightly Ivan Upton - who lives in the area’s only village exclusively for the over 55s - clowned his way round a five mile course to raise cash for charity.

The 77-year-old sported a full clown’s costume, including baggy trousers, bow tie and red nose, and put his best foot forward with friends from Rugby Rokeby Lions.
After he’d completed the walk around Draycott Water, Ivan’s friends and family as well as neighbours and staff from his home in Lime Tree Village, Dunchurch, near Rugby, handed over around £200 in sponsorship.
The cash is being donated to Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance - the adopted charity of Lime Tree Village.
“Walking our Poodle - Bertie - keeps my wife Audrey and I pretty fit and I was pleased to manage the walk in less than two hours - even dressed as a clown,” said Ivan.
“We moved to Lime Tree Village from Leicestershire in January so I’m a new recruit at this Lion’s group. It was certainly a memorable first event.”
