The area’s first dedicated village for the over 60’s, Blagdon Village, is now open for viewing.
Retirement Villages Ltd has taken ownership of the very first properties from building partners Russell Construction.
This means the village is now in a position to show people inside a typical retirement property for the very first time.
“Instead of talking about individual homes and expecting people to visualise layouts and room sizes, we can now show them exactly what we mean,” explained Ruth Baskett for selling agent Greenslade Taylor Hunt.
Clevedon-based builder Russell Construction has completed work on a number of bungalows and cottages. It is now turning its attention to the first apartment building which should be ready for viewing in the coming weeks.
“Blagdon Village is really starting to take shape,” added Ruth. “With the hoardings partly removed and landscaping in place, people can really start to see how the village will look.
“Feedback has been extremely positive. Our first viewers have commented on room sizes and the general layout of the properties. I think they are genuinely surprised by the amount of living space which will make downsizing that much easier.”
Properties at Blagdon Village begin from £194,000 for a two bedroom apartment. To view the new properties, call into the development off Middleway which is open seven days a week from 10.30am-5pm. Alternatively, tel: 01823 336192.
