The centrepiece of Taunton’s newest lifestyle development for the over 60s – Blagdon Lodge – has been officially opened.
And residents are now making the most of the first-class facilities – including restaurant, bar, library and function room - in the purpose-built club-house which is the focal point of Blagdon Village, off Middleway.
A plaque marking the opening was unveiled by Mayor of Taunton Deane Ken Hayward in front of VIP guests, residents and directors from developers Retirement Villages and its partner in the venture Barnardos.
“The opening of Blagdon Lodge marks an important and exciting stage in the development of the village,” said Retirement Villages’ property sales and marketing director Sarah Burgess. “The Lodge offers first class facilities for residents and is a real sign the village is coming to life.”
When completed, the village will boast 85 privately-owned properties. Apartments at Blagdon Village are available from £195,000. Show apartments are open daily 10.30am-5pm. Tel: 01823 336192.
