Our residential homes can provide the support necessary to enable residents to live to the optimum level of independence, secure in the knowledge help is available round the clock should they need it.
Some of our residential homes have been purpose built, others have undergone a transformation but all offer high levels of care in comfortable, safe and pleasant environments.
Shared facilities have been well thought out to offer space which is both practical and attractive. There are dining areas where residents can choose to eat at a table for one or join others. Lounges are well equipped with games, books, multi-media and a plethora of seating options. Some of our residential homes have libraries, activity rooms or meeting spaces where residents can socialise, relax, organise events or join in activities arranged by staff.
En suite bedrooms ensure privacy and are provided fully furnished. Residents are encouraged to personalise their own rooms by bringing with them small items of furniture, ornaments and photos for instance, to help them feel at home.
Our homes all have outside areas which can be enjoyed by residents and their guests. Some have outdoor games equipment which proves particularly popular on summer days.
Staff at our residential homes work on 24 hour rotas to provide round the clock care and support. We recognise that every individual has different requirements. Before admission, potential residents are assessed by a senior member of staff to ensure their chosen home can meet their needs. Following this consultation, a care plan is put together in conjunction with the resident, their relatives where appropriate, and staff. The plan enables the residents to achieve realistic goals and attain maximum levels of independence within their own environment. This plan is reviewed as needs change, and also on a monthly basis.
As in all our care homes, a team of support staff provides domestic services including cleaning and personal laundry. Nutritionally balanced meals are cooked by on site catering teams, headed by a qualified chef. Snacks and drinks are available throughout the day.
Our staff enjoy good working relationships with GPs, district nurses and professionals.
A wide range of chargeable services can also be provided. These may include hairdressing, chiropody, dry cleaning and social outings.
Residents are encouraged to maintain their normal interests and pursuits with friends and family and are, of course, free to go out anytime. Assistance can be provided at an additional cost. Visitors are welcome at all times with residents free to entertain in their own rooms or in the communal areas.
Our core values are based around the following objectives:
* to respect clients’ privacy
* to offer dignity and respect
* to ensure security and safety
* to honour confidentiality
* to preserve civil rights
* to ensure personal choice
* to help make clients’ lives fulfilling
All of our homes are registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Residential Care is available at the following Retirement Villages’ locations:
Respite care
It may be you or a loved one needs extra support or care on a temporary basis. Our care homes are able to provide respite care, dependent on space.
This service may be useful during a period of convalescence following illness or a stay in hospital or perhaps while primary carers take a holiday or enforced leave.
Respite care at one of our villages provides a safe and secure alternative to care in the family home.
Holiday respite stays are also available at some locations. This could be a short break or longer fortnight or even monthly stay. Single or double occupancy is available and people can choose to stay alone or bring a friend or loved one.
