Retirement Villages Group Limited (RVG Ltd) is the longest established operator of retirement villages in the UK having celebrated its 30th birthday in 2011. Its model of offering active, older people a supported lifestyle in villages with extensive facilities differentiates the company from other retirement operators which offer either sheltered accommodation with no facilities or support, or are nursing based offering services only to the frail.
The company was sold by the founding owners on their retirement in February 2005 to an investment company, Romac Investments Limited. The new owners have invested heavily in the expansion and development of the business through the acquisition of existing villages, development at new sites and expansion in to new service areas.
The company has grown from three completed villages with one under construction in February 2005 to 13 operating villages with a further three under development. Many of the villages now include nursing and residential care facilities and assisted living. The company intends to continue its expansion through acquisition, joint venture and organic growth.

Land requirements
We currently have a £100 million development programme underway but this doesn’t dampen our desire to talk to landowners, contractors and other developers who want to share the opportunities that exist in this sector.
It is undoubtedly an exciting period in the retirement development market. At times we find ourselves the reluctant developer and, for this reason, we would be delighted to talk to others who may have development capabilities but less experience or expertise in delivery who would like to explore the possibilities of a partnership approach.
Our criteria guidelines are:
3-20 acres
Home counties, South East, South West, Midlands, North West
We welcome enquiries and approaches. Please contact Jon Gooding on 01372 731888 or email
