ACCESSIBILITY
Text Size
There are a number of ways to change the text size in your browser (Internet Explorer):
1. Select the 'View' menu.
2. Select the 'Text Size' option from the menu.
3. Click on the text size you require.
If you’re using Firefox or Safari on a PC, hold down the Control key and press the plus and minus buttons to zoom in and out. If you’re using a Mac, hold down the CMD key and press the plus and minus buttons to change the text size.
Tab Indexing
We have made tabbing through a page easy. The order for tab indexing in the Retirement Villages pages is as follows:
Search Facility
Main Navigation
Content Links
Bottom Sub Navigation
Images
Throughout the Retirement Villages website we have avoided using excessive graphics. This ensures quicker download times and access to information which cannot be read when in image format.
Where images have been used we have added ‘Alt’ tags – text alternatives. If an image doesn’t load, if you have opted to browse with images switched off, of if you are using a screen reader to access the website, then these ‘Alt’ tags will convey the contents of the image.
Navigation
Throughout the site we have tried to keep the navigation consistent. Key pages (including Home, Accessibility and Our Villages) are available from every single page on the website. The main navigation is accessible from all the pages.
In addition to finding pages using the main navigation users of the website should also be able to find them using the 'Search' facility located at the top of every page.
